SSOC Mohali Foils Major Target Killing Plot; Arrests Two Key Associates of Gangster Arsh Dala from Moga; One Zigana Pistol and Live Ammunition Recovered

In a significant breakthrough, the State Special Operation cell (SSOC), SAS Nagar, has successfully averted a major target killing incident by arresting two operatives of Canada-based gangster Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dala from district Moga. The arrested individuals have been identified as: Kawaljit Singh alias Kaka, son of Jagjit Singh, resident of Mohalla Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar,
Ward Kamoa, Dharamkot, District Moga and Navdeep Singh alias Honey, son of Gurmander Singh, resident of Badduwal, Police Station Dharamkot, District Moga. During the operation, a Zigana along with 9 live cartridges were recovered from the possession of the accused.
Ravjot Grewal, IPS, AIG, State Special Operation cell, SAS Nagar has informed that on receiving a tip off that Canada based gangster Arsh Dalla is planning to kill members of his rival gang and in this criminal motive his associates Kawaljit Singh alias Kaka and Navdeep Singh alias Honey are helping him, who have huge Arms and ammunition in possession provided to them by Arsh Dala. Dala has already provided them details of target. On which case has been registered under FIR No. 07 dated 13.06.2025, under Sections 25 and 25(7) of the Arms Act and Section 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at PS SSOC, SAS Nagar. Acting swiftly team SSOC raided and arrested both the
accused from Dharamkot, Moga on 13.06.2025.
During interrogation, Kawaljit Singh alias Kaka made startling disclosures regarding a high-profile murder plot. He revealed that he was in direct contact with Arsh Dala and was receiving instructions from him. Few days ago, he was provided with the Zigana weapon and ammunition by Arsh Dala for a specific task assigned to him i.e. the target of eliminating a Faridkot-based individual
While briefing Kawaljit about the assassination, Arsh Dala instructed him to kill even family members including the target present in the house at time of attack. Kawaljit Singh @ Kaka carries past criminal record with cases of NDPS registered against him. Second accused arrested Navdeep Singh alias Honey
was actively involved in providing logistical support to Kawaljit for carrying out the operation. Further investigation revealed that Kawaljit Singh had also recruited another associates with him to assist in the execution of the killing whose identification is under process. Moreover, Arsh Dala had arranged
an “unknown associate”, who had already conducted recce of the target, to coordinate with Kawaljit for providing on-ground assistance at the time of the attack. Kawaljit @ Kaka has already received amount of Rs 01 Lac from Arsh Dala for this task. Also few extortion related targets were also assigned
to the accused that were to be accomplished later.
The entire conspiracy was at stage of execution. With the timely arrests and recovery of arms, the SSOC SAS Nagar has successfully thwarted a major target killing, potentially preventing bloodshed in Punjab. Efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest further operatives involved in the module. SSOC SAS Nagar has obtained 04 days Police remand of the arrested. Punjab Police is commited in uprooting organized crime from Punjab and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
