Nabaz-e-Punjab, Chandigarh, March 21,2026:
Returning to Punjab after living abroad for over 18 years, Rashpal Singh Charar—while speaking to journalists during the launch of the ‘Shuddh Punjab’ (Pure Punjab) campaign—stated that their primary objective is to promote a healthy lifestyle, create a clean and pollution-free environment, ensure the safety and security of people’s lives and property, boost economic development and employment opportunities, and guide the youth in the right direction. Addressing a press conference at the Chandigarh Press Club, Rashpal Singh Charar—Founder of the Lok Seva Welfare Society—further mentioned that while his NGO has been active since 2017, the ‘Shuddh Punjab’ campaign has been specifically launched for the state today, with the aim of reaching every household in the coming days. To achieve this, they are conducting an awareness drive by visiting 4 to 5 villages daily and engaging directly with the local residents. Elaborating on the campaign, he outlined initiatives such as promoting vendors who provide pure and unadulterated food in both villages and cities; raising public awareness on how to avoid adulterated food; controlling water and air pollution; educating citizens about law and order to ensure a ‘Safe Punjab’; launching special drives for the safety of women and children; promoting road safety and adherence to traffic regulations; and initiating drug de-addiction campaigns. Similarly, under the ‘Samarth Punjab’ (Empowered Punjab) initiative, key focus areas include creating employment opportunities for the youth, promoting small-scale industries and home-based businesses, encouraging the adoption of modern technology in agriculture, and implementing self-employment schemes for women. Rashpal Singh Charar further remarked that while foreign countries possess both positive and negative aspects, there is absolutely nothing wrong in adopting the positive elements to bring about constructive change and betterment in our own Punjab. He stated that, while it is undoubtedly the responsibility of the governments of the day to provide government jobs, we, too, must work responsibly towards “job creation” so that everyone can contribute to building a better society. Responding to questions from journalists, Rashpal Singh Charar Charad further remarked that a collaborative partnership between local institutions and the public is essential for the successful implementation of any project or plan. Rashpal Singh Charad added that there is a pressing need to collaborate with social organizations to conduct awareness programs in schools and colleges; this would enable us to collectively maintain a clean and healthy environment, reduce crime rates and enhance security, improve employment opportunities and economic stability, and ultimately foster a prosperous and socially conscious society. Addressing further queries from the press, Rashpal Singh announced that the “Shuddh Punjab” (Pure Punjab) campaign was launched today, and its promotion and outreach efforts would be significantly intensified in the coming days. Gurjit Singh and Ravinder Singh were also present alongside Rashpal Singh Charar on this occasion.
