MLA Kulwant Singh Dedicates Ultrasound Facility at ESI Hospital Mohali

Proposes New ESI or General Hospital at Sector 66, says MLA Kulwant Singh

Nabaz-e-Punjab, Mohali, October 1:
MLA SAS Nagar (Mohali) Kulwant Singh today dedicated a newly installed high-definition Ultrasound unit at the state-run ESI Hospital, Phase 7, Mohali.Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that the installation of this advanced unit along with the posting of a radiologist would significantly improve healthcare services for employees working in the industrial area. He added that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to ensuring quality healthcare for residents. “The Aam Aadmi Clinics are already a proven model to provide basic healthcare with free medicines and diagnostic tests right at people’s doorsteps,” he remarked.
Lauding the efforts of the Hospital Staff and the Mohali Industry Association for managing the hospital effectively, Kulwant Singh said he is making efforts to establish another major health facility—either an ESI Hospital or a Civil Hospital-type institution—at Sector 66. This, he said, would help reduce the burden on the existing District Hospital, which is currently functioning as part of a Medical College until the college shifts to its own campus behind ISB.
He further assured that the ESI Hospital at Phase 7 will continue to be strengthened to cater to the healthcare needs of industrial employees more effectively.

Expressing gratitude to the MLA, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, SMO Incharge of ESI Hospital, said that the operationalization of the Ultrasound unit has fulfilled a major requirement of the hospital. She informed that the hospital already has doctors in multiple disciplines, an ambulance dedicated for patient care, and soon, a blood storage unit will also be established.
Prominent industrialists present on the occasion included Jasbir Singh (Chairman, MIA ESI Committee), Baljit Singh (President, Mohali Industry Association), Harinderpal Singh (former President, Mohali MC), Rajesh Wig, K.S. Mahal, Paramjit Singh Saini, Ashok Gupta, and A.S. Anand.
