Advocate Mr Rahul Mehra represented the Aam Aadmi Party government in the Supreme Court. Mr Mehra said that if the central government agrees with demands made by the farmers then the protest will stop immediately. He also said that the demands of the farmers are legitimate and the central government must accept them. In the Supreme Court, the Kejriwal government noted that we are standing in favour of the farmers and we believe that their protest is legitimate now the Central govt should clear their stand. The BJP ruled Central government opposed the farmers protest in the Supreme Court, saying they do not want to negotiate and that other forces have infiltrated the farmers agitation. AAP government said in the Supreme Court, “If the Central government agrees to farmers demands, then the protests will end immediately. Farmers are sitting in extreme weather not out of choice but compulsion. Their demands are absolutely legitimate and the Central Government must listen and accept to these demands. But the Central Government seems not interested in looking into the demands of these farmers.” The next hearing of the petition will take place tomorrow. The Central government opposed the farmer movement in the Supreme Court Mr Tushar Mehta, the Solicitor General of the BJP ruled Central Government, appeared in the Supreme Court completely opposed the protest of the farmers. He observed that the farmers are not in the mood of negotiating and are disrespecting the ministers who are attending the meetings with farmers. He said that other forces have joined the farmers’ protest and are taking advantage of the movement.
