Students Felicitated for International Punjabi Language Olympiad

The Punjab School Education Board organized a grand ceremony to honor the school students who participated in the International Punjabi Language Olympiad. The event was graced by Education Minister Shri Harjot Singh Bains as the chief guest.
The ceremony began with the Board’s anthem, followed by a floral welcome for the chief guest. Dr. Harinder Singh, Punjabi lecturer, presented a report on the Olympiad, mentioning that exams were conducted at three levels—Primary, Middle, and Secondary—by the Board, with 33 students securing top positions. He specially acknowledged the support of Mrs. Parminder Kaur, in-charge of the Punjabi Development Cell.
Chairman Dr. Amarpal Singh, IAS (Retd.), welcomed the guests and emphasized in his address that the Punjabi language holds great significance. He stated that the Olympiad is not just a competition but a means to prepare students for life. The International Punjabi Language Olympiad serves as a bridge to connect Punjabis living abroad with their mother tongue. He assured that the Punjab School Education Board is committed to elevating the standard of education in the state so that every student can shine globally.
Shri Harjot Singh Bains congratulated the participants and praised the Board’s initiative in promoting the Punjabi language. He suggested that the Board should organize Olympiads in other subjects as well in the future. This, he said, would not only enhance students’ knowledge but also motivate teachers to nurture their students’ talents further.

The chief guest and the Chairman honored the winning students and their teachers with mementos and certificates.
At the end of the event, Board Secretary Shri Gurinder Singh Sodhi (PCS) thanked the Education Minister, dignitaries, media representatives, students, teachers, parents, and Board officials for their presence. He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to raising the standard of education in Punjab.
