CGC Landran celebrates International Women’s Day

Nabaz-e-Punjab, Mohali, 9 March 2026:
Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran, marked International Women’s Day with a series of activities, recognizing the contributions and achievements of women across the institution. As part of the celebrations, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran, along with the institution’s Directors, presented suits to the women support staff of the campus as a gesture of appreciation for their dedication and service. The initiative acknowledged the role played by women support staff in the smooth functioning of the institution and highlighted the importance of recognizing their contributions. The Department of Student Welfare, CGC Landran, also organized an engaging panel discussion featuring accomplished women leaders from diverse fields. The session brought together inspiring voices who shared their experiences and insights with students and attendees. The distinguished panel included Ms. Sharmita Bhinder, renowned poet, writer, thought activist and founder of EmPower (NGO); Ms. Kamal Rekhi, Chief Business Officer, International, Bhumika Realty; Ms. Harman Mangat, Digital Marketing Strategist and Educationist; Dr. Bhupinder Waraich, Psychiatrist at Fortis Hospital; Ms. Anita Shabdeesh, acclaimed Theatre Artist, Director and Founder of Suchetak Rangmanch; and Dr. Gagandeep Bhullar, Director, Student Welfare and Alumni Affairs, CGC Landran. During the discussion, the panellists shared insights from their personal and professional journeys, reflecting on how qualities such as resilience, patience, discipline and courage helped them navigate challenges and achieve their goals. They also spoke about the importance of supporting one another and prioritizing emotional wellbeing and personal growth.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gagandeep Bhullar, Director, Student Welfare and Alumni Affairs, CGC Landran, said, “International Women’s Day provides an important opportunity to recognize the strength, resilience and contributions of women in every sphere of society. At CGC Landran, we remain committed to creating an environment that encourages confidence, equality and opportunities for women to grow and lead.” The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment with the audience. Women employees of the institution were also felicitated in recognition of their contributions to the institution.
